Title: Medical Assistant Float

Employment Type: Full Time

Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM

City: Moline

State: Illinois

Position Responsibilities:

  • Greeting and escorting patients to exam rooms; preparing for provider's visit by obtaining initial information and vital signs
  • Checking the patient's medical record for pertinent data; reviewing and maintaining accurate patient information/demographic data
  • Inspecting exam rooms for cleanliness and equipment condition; stocking and maintaining rooms and clinic stations with adequate supplies
  • Assisting the provider with exams and procedures
  • Ordering/scheduling any x-rays, tests, or surgeries that are needed
  • Assisting with the removal of staples, sutures, and changing of dressings as necessary
  • Drawing up and assisting with injections
  • Entering data into proper systems
  • Educating patients and their caregivers regarding specific care as instructed by the provider
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Medical Assistant Diploma or Certification is preferred
  • One year of prior clinical experience is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with patients, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of personal computer applications and Electronic Medical Record
  • The ability to travel between ORA Illinois and Iowa clinics is required
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and Saturdays when needed
